Bio

Dr. Rogers is a native of Macon, GA. Before coming to WIN Academy, Dr. Rogers taught high school math in Bibb County. After moving to Warner Robins, Dr. Walker hired him in his current position as a math teacher at the then named Crossroads Center. Dr. Rogers has taught various math courses at the middle school and high school levels at WIN Academy since 2012. Before beginning his career in education, Dr. Rogers had a construction background and earned a Bachelor's degree in Accounting from Georgia College. He later earned his Master's degree from GCSU in Secondary Education and Specialist (EdS) degree from Liberty University in Curriculum and Instruction. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Education (EdD) degree from Kennesaw State University. Dr. Rogers has a passion for helping at-risk students reach their full potential and achieve academic success. He believes that all students can be successful and improve their mathematical reasoning and strategic expertise if teachers meet them where they are at academically, guide them to where they need be, and provide them with ample opportunities for success along the way. He believes that the foundation of establishing these opportunities is to first and foremost build a good relationship with his students.  Dr. Rogers supports the development of good intuitions in number skills and deep understandings of basic and important mathematical concepts by scaffolding students’ learning upon their prior knowledge and through the implementation of many research-based and effective instructional strategies.
